In the month of July, Demon Slayer topped Japanese manga sales second only to One Piece.

With a super strong manga track record prior to this, the insanely popular anime adaptation topped polls for Japanese domestic television as well as online platforms such as crunchyroll, hulu and funimation. This massive success earned a western localisation dropping October 12th on Toonami.

But what's more is just 2 weeks ago, Nezuko’s voice actress and Demon Slayer producer Yuma Takahashi, were attending a panel at an anime expo and announced “Tanjiro’s story will continue”

Let’s talk, Demon Slayer, season 2.

. Benjamin Franklin once said, in life the only two things certain are death and taxes. But, perhaps he should of been more open to the idea of Demon Slayer season 2, because it most definitely is on the way. As I mentioned, in the month of July Demon Slayer was KILLING it in Tankobon sales.

If we take a look at some of the other contending titles we have, Fate: Grand Order in 18th place with 216,546 sales. Then other titles such as Black Clover in 13th, Dr. Stone in 12th, Fire Force in 10th, My hero academia in 7th, promised neverland in 6th, that time I was reincarnated as a slime in 5th, Kingdom in 4th, One Punch man in 3rd, Demon Slayer second with 1,393,353 sales and One piece first with 2,174,006 sales.

Demon slayer is crushing it on my anime list with an average score of 8.80 and ranking at number 27 in the top anime.
The show is also dominating viewer ratings on crunchyroll, hulu and funimation.

Knowing all of this, please feel free to cite me when I say, it’s just a matter of time until season 2 rolls around.
Let’s just hope UFOtable can hold onto that animation contract, and the series doesn’t go through the One Punch Man season 2 treatment. Yeesh. The Kimetsu no Yaiba manga is currently serialised in Shonen Jump Weekly, and as of the season 1 finale, the anime has covered up to chapter 51.

Clearing one of the toughest hurdles for anime adaptations, as their is an abundance of chapters still to cover, with the latest being number 175. Thankfully it’s unlikely we will be subjected to a Demon Slayer filler arc, or beach episodes. In August, Demon Slayer producer Yuma Takahashi said that the fate of the anime series was essentially in the hands of the fans, subtly hinting for everyone to go out and by the manga and merch, in turn signaling to decision makers behind the production that it’s a venture worth continuing.

Yes this is a call to action to go out and buy that nezuko waifu figure and Tanjiro body pillow. The producer Yuma Takahashi also attended Australia’s Madman Anime Festival held on September 15, along side Nezuko’s voice actress and was reported to have said, Tanjiro’s story will continue. Now Koyoharu, the author behind the manga has made no indication of Hiatus for the series, so it’s pretty safe to assume he’s low-key announcing Demon Slayer anime season 2.
